Be Anxious for nothing

Hi Folks ~ Here it is another Friday.  I hope you all have lovely weekends. Tomorrow I’d like to do some inside ‘homecaring’. I decided against the expensive Mopnado, and did more Google searching and found the most popular wring mop is the Libman Wonder Mop, $8.99. (Better for my budget.) So I bought one and some Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Lavender Multi-Surface Concentrate from my Publix grocery. Haven’t used them yet, as this morning I weed-wacked and mowed and wore myself out.  My left arm was weak and shaky after weed wacking, and is still a bit weak even now at 7:16 p.m. I have more to do but that can wait til next week.

It may be fall by the calendar, but it sure doesn’t feel like it down here in s.e. FL. Very hot and humid still, a.c. running.

This morning I noticed a fresh opened orchid bloom from one of the orchids I bought this past spring at our botanical gardens orchid show and sale. There are several more buds on this one. I just love this orchid.

Izumu dendrobium

The yellow orchid from the other day has opened fully and it is

Sunflower Phalaenopsis

This is a ground orchid about to open.

Yesterday I also bought a dawn to dusk LED light that either mounts to the wall or you can have on a garden stake. It plugs into an outlet. I mounted it to the workshop wall. Boy does it put out the light. I still have to tweak the position but I am happy with it. It lights up behind my cottage. The old security light finally croaked last year I think, maybe earlier this year, and I’ve needed something, so I did more Googling and decided to try this light, which you can get at HD.

This morning in my email I got Max Lucado’s devotional and after reading it I went to his website where I found something by him, just meant for me today. I have a confession to make, I’m not as strong as some of you may think. My faith wobbles at times, but I talk to God a lot throughout my days and nights, telling him my thoughts and prayers, and also thank him for his many blessings. He blesses me with peace and is my strength when I am weak.

The piece I watched today really blessed my heart and at the end something triggered tears, I’m not sure what at the moment. God cares deeply for each of us and we need to keep our focus on that instead of what is going on around us or happening with us.

Here’s the link Be Anxious For Nothing, by Max Lucado. He is a very gentle, kind speaker and blesses many.

This week I became a member of a small group in part of a world wide Bible Study, by BSF, Bible Study Fellowship. This organization is over 50 years old, it is inter-denominational. My sis-in-law told me about this new study just starting up last week. She’s been a member for 19 years now and is a leader of a small group where she lives, which is over an hour away. Each small group has around 15 ladies. In my group, I’m the oldest and the only widow. I look forward to getting to know each of these ladies and to be blessed and drawn closer to God in the study, which is the book of Revelation this time. We meet for 30 weeks at a host church, where we get together for singing, prayer and a lecture on the upcoming study, and we divide into our smaller groups to discuss what we learned from reading the scriptures and answering questions for the last week. It is really good. One of my blogging friends who lives in VA has already found a BSF group meeting in her area and hopes to be able to go. If any are interested, you can go to their website and find out if there are any studies happening in your area, by clicking the following link, BSF.

I’ve been enjoy your blogs about fall and cooler temps happening in your areas.  Enjoying seeing how you decorate for the season, reading recipes, etc. You all inspire me.

Have a great weekend ~ be thankful ~ FlowerLady

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I have wobbly moments too, perhaps we all do. I like the Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products too, I use her Clean Day on the kitchen counters. Your BSF group sounds good; I go to a Women's Bible Study at my church where I learn and enjoy friendships with new people.

With the trial I am facing in my life right now, I will certainly be heading over to Max Lucado's site, I have been anxious and filled with worry and stress. Thanks for sharing the link. Love your flowers. Praying you have a great weekend, even though it is still not fall where either of us live! Blessings, Cindy xoxo

Hi Lorraine, your beautiful post was what I needed this morning. Thank you for sharing and the link to the message from Max Lucado. It was very good. Your new bible study group sounds great. Love your pretty orchids. It is not a flower I have had luck with growing. But I admire those that can raise them to the beauty you share here.

I hope you rest your arm and the temps cool down a bit. We are still rather warm here in Texas too. Ready for fall and cooler days ahead.
Have a great weekend. Blessings, cm

Your posts are always or interesting or fun to read. Your orchids are wonderful, do you have theme inside or are they outside in your garden? In comparison with us you have a lovely warm climate. Haha, I have wobby moments too, but not so many. Especially with a muddy dog around, a mop can be very useful.
Have a nice Sunday and I hope your arm is on full strength again on Monday, take care.

Lorraine, your orchids are beautiful. The Izumu is dazzling! I'm no good with indoor plants, other than a 'lucky' bamboo that I've had for years. I do grow ground orchids though.
I've been working slowly on fall clean up, but like you, I'm waiting on some fall-like temperatures.
Take care, cooler weathers coming.

I think joining a bible study group is a wonderful idea for you. It will build your faith and you will develop many new friendships. I love the flowers. Will have to check out Max Lucado's website. I read one of his books last year and it was good. Have a good Saturday.

I understand BSF is a very intense study - but I've heard SO many good things about it. It should keep you busy.

I really don't believe ANY of us are as strong as others think we are. That's why we need each other. I think that's why I like this Burk Parson tweet--"Don't be afraid to admit you have issues. Be afraid if you've deluded yourself to think you have no issues. God knows your issues—go to him."

And your orchids are beautiful - beyond words, really....

Hi Rainey! It's hot here too, so if misery loves company consider me your companion. Ha! We all have doubts and periods of weakness. That is why it's important to continue to renew your relationship with God. Your study group sounds like a wonderful way to do that. October is almost here! Cooler weather has to follow!

Hugs
Jane

My arms get shaky after weed whacking too. Always have for some reason. I think it's the weight combined with the vibration?

Anyway, your orchids are gorgeous and I'm glad the rain finally came and has ended the drought. I hope it cools down for you, my friend.

Have fun with your new group :)

I appreciate your little confession, and if I am confess too...so am I wobbly at times. I always think of Jesus disciple Peter, when he was walking on the water and he started to sink because he feared. Peter is so easy to relate too, he may have not always been perfect, but wow did he have a perfect LOVE for Jesus. I think that is something we all can aim/purpose for ourselves. Hope your new little group with be the support you need, all purposes need support. Much love!

I've been meaning to say, I adore your teddy bears up in your banner. THey look so warm and cuddly.
We're about to start studying a Max Lucado book in our ladies Bible study, "Fearless." Excellent book.
I think I was involved in BSF years ago. Do they do the Bible Coffees? I taught some of those. Great group.
