Another chilly morning ~ hurray and lots of pics

Good morning Folks,

It is Monday morning and after gusting winds and rain yesterday it is a chilly 57 and with the windchill factor it feels like it is 47.  I don’t think it got as low as predicted for last night, but this weather is a welcome change from the summer like temps we’ve been having.

First of all, I want to thank you all for visiting and for those who leave comments an extra thank you.  They mean a lot and touch my heart.

I can hardly believe it’s been almost two weeks since I posted anything.  There hasn’t been all that much happening down here except same-o-same-o.

We did move an old iron gate to a new location and I love it.  It is at the northwest corner of my main garden.

At one time this gate probably had a mate to make one large gate that opened, but this is what we have.  We got it with the two gates that we use as entry gatesat the front of our property, one out on the sidewalk, and one on the driveway side.

Here it is from the backside and you can see Tork following me. She’s a hoot. She’s in the picture above too.

Here she is as I headed to the back side of the garden where the gate is.

This is a view from that seating area.

This view is from the eastern side of the main garden looking toward the patio which sits off my little indoor space. The MOM blooms are all over the property.  I love those bell shaped flowers.

This blue sage shrub is back my clothesline area.  That is our old mailbox and I sometimes keep tools in it.

This is a desert cassia, grown from seed.  I planted more seeds of several things a few weeks back and have one seedling that came up of this.

Another spray from this orchid.

The other day I could not remember what the name of this plant, I was pretty sure it started with a P.  I knew penstemon wasn’t right but my mind wasn’t picking up on it.  Then when I was out later I saw that I had kept the tag when I repotted and they are ‘Pentas’. DUH!  Sometimes I feel like such a dunce.  I’ve not grown these much, but these two colors jumped out at me a few weeks ago and now are gracing my little caravan/clothesline garden.

Here is an unknown jasmine.  The leaves are tiny as is the bloom, but the scent is heavenly. This is growing up on the south end of the seating area at the back of the garden.

That’s it for gardening and outdoor projects.  Yesterday I started moving and cleaning out ‘craft’ files, going back to 1998, when I got my first computer.  DH has taught me how to use the F keys and other key combinations to save my hand/wrist/arm from tension with using the mouse so much. It does make things less stressful and hurtful so I’m appreciative for his advice. Found a couple of crafty items I can hardly wait to make, as I’d just saved them to folders and forgotten about them.

I will be having more needle cases up in my Etsy shop as soon as I finish putting them together. They are such luscious colors.  I’ll also be having some single Irish crocheted roses that I’ve been making for applique, or crazy quilt embellishments. There just don’t seem to be enough hours in a day to do everything I’d like to do, much less that needs doing.

Well, it’s time to get us some breakfast, then get things done so that we can do our errands.  Hope you all have a great day and a lovely week.  To those who are dealing with the aftermath of those horrible tornadoes and stormy weather, you’ve been in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks again everyone for taking the time to visit.

A Change in the Year

It is the first (5th) mild day of March:

Each minute sweeter than before,

The redbreast sings from the tall larch

That stands beside our door.

There is a blessing in the air,

Which seems a sense of joy to yield

To the bare trees, and mountains bare;

And grass in the green field.

William Wordsworth

Your place is like a little Garden of Eden! Must be nice to close your gates and keep to yourselves in your little haven. What a wonderful buy that bench was!

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful walk in your garden. I love Tork, cats seem to belong in a garden, don't they?

I'm ready to move into your yard! Is there room for a tent?

I WAS hoping for updated photos of your caravan (is that what you call it?)...

How is it coming along?

Your blooms are SO beautiful. Can't wait for our spring "up" here.

I love your resting area and the gate looks perfect.

I am so impressed with all the color you have in your garden. We are still very blah here; just some green grass and a few daffs. I am beginning to see pink on the peach buds.....a very scary thing. It is way too soon.

Looking so nice! So tropical! My oldest just came back from Costa Rica and my youngest is in your neck of the woods but a bit north (Orlando)for a conference. She went to Cocoa Beach today and flys home tomorrow. I have missed her! Kit

It's really amazing to me how many pretty blooms you have growing this time of year. Up north, our slates are nearly blank but the colorful days are coming. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such kind words. Wishing you a wonderful week! Cheers, Jenni

You always have such beautiful blooms in your garden all year long. I love the Blue pea vine. I would have to grow it as an annual here I suppose. I would love to try one though. The hummingbirds would not know what to think around here with that vine. LOL! Your seating area is so cute and I love the iron decor you have around in it. Have a wonderful week!

You have made your garden area such an inviting place. I'm amazed at the variety of plants which thrive there--many which I have never 'met' beyond the pages of a gardening book.
Thank you for sharing your lovely photos.

I have just read your posts back through last year. I love them. I think a lot like you. Love flowers and "found" things. My husband is very handy also. We love our "projects" and live in mid e.c. fl on a piece of property that hes been in my husbands family since '39.
