Merry Christmas

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas and a wonderful 2011.

For unto us a child is born,
unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called
Wonderful,
Counselor,
The mighty God,
The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.

And the Word was made flesh,
and dwelt among us,
(and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)
full of grace and truth.
John 1:1&14

Christmas is not just a day,

an event to be observed and speedily forgotten.

It is a spirit which should permeate every part of our lives.

This is Christmas:

not the tinsel,

not the giving and receiving,

not even the carols,

but the humble heart that receives anew the wondrous gift,

the Christ.

Love came down at Christmas;

love all lovely,

love divine;

love was born at Christmas,

stars and angels gave the sign.

Merry Christmas!

Thank you for your recent comment to me. I'm taking a break from blogging and gardening--being working out instead and lost 19 lbs! Feeling good (but, have a cold right now).

The nativity scene reminds me of the ones my parents have. They got it as a wedding gift, and I always love looking at it.
I hope you and your husband have a very special Christmas!

dear flower lady...you have posted my favourite christmas carol and i don't think i have heard any nicer than this and to think the violin was part of it!

happy holidays to you...i wish that in the new year you were one of the sisters of the traveling scarf...you are there so many times with your kind comments...how great it would be if you join while the bible is still traveling from sister to sister!'
sometimes i am just too bold for my own good but it WOULD be nice if you did!...love terry

This was my favorite Christmas post of any I have seen. We had a nice Christmas, and it sounds like you did too.

Tell your husband a late happy birthday from me. My sister's was the 17th, and my brother's, the 19th. My dad and grandson have birthdays January 4th.

Your gift turned out beautiful! I love your "junk yard bird" from another post.

Have a great last few days of 2010!
