Dust storm from Africa

Today it is very hazy, breezy and hot. My boss told me about this dust storm from Africa so I looked it up on Accu-weather and sure enough we are getting this.  You can read about it here.

The sunsets are supposed to be spectacular so I’ll see if I can get any pictures tonight.

Right now at 1:25 p.m. EST. it is 88 and feels like it is 101. No rain in the forecast.

I’m thankful for air-conditioning.

That’s it for now.  I just thought you might find the dust storm from Africa interesting.

My heat index 105. Yes, thanks for airconditioning. I did not grow up with it in Michigan :)

I will look this up also. Very interesting.
We have been getting the smoke and haze from the Colorado fires and its made it hazy, really hot and smokey at times. It has been letting up some. We also have had prairie fires around us and makes it smell of smoke and grass.
Have a wonderful up coming weekend.
Hugs

That's very interesting, Rainey. Just goes to show you what a small planet we live on. BTW, missed the last post. That's SO romantics that you and your husband spent your early years together in Italy!

It's amazing that it traveled so far!

The dust storm information was very interesting. I know weeks of drought are bad, but I'd sure like to warm up. It's been a cold summer. Nothing by rain for the last two days. I am so chilled and longing for sun. Try to soak up a little for me.

You're getting Africa's weather. We're getting your weather. Although today FL we feel like the Pacific Northwest, rainy and humid and cool! Refreshing. Hope you have a great weekend! xxoo Nancy

Oh, my! I'm not going to go read that now, because I am working to find some blogs I read so I can put them back into blog rolls. I had taken mine off when I was having problems with people getting warning messages getting on my blog.

I am thankful for air conditioning, too. We are supposed to get over 100 the next few days. We need rain so badly! It's a hard season to garden.

Interesting ~ at least there is nothing in the way of tropical storms on the horizon. Looking forward to your sunset pictures. We have been getting some beautiful sunrises and enough rain to cool us down in the afternoons.

Happy weekend.

Did you manage to get any shots of the expected spectacular sunset? I hope it was colourful.

Hello! I hope this finds you well and not too hot. Thank you for the link on the dust storm – I hadn't heard about it but read the link and found it fascinating. With the wild weather most people are having, it's at least a little bonus to have the gorgeous sunsets.

Last week we had tremendous thunderstorms, almost out of nowhere. I was driving back from the farm shoot and saw the most incredible cloud formations during the sunset. Alas, I couldn't pull off the freeway to capture them but they are burned into my memory!

Thank you for your lovely comment – I'm always so pleased to hear from you and get caught up here. Wishing you a lovely weekend. too. – g

That's a long way for dust to travel. We have plenty of our own dust here! Ha.

Stay cool.
