Good morning Folks ~ I hope you are starting to see signs of spring happening where you are. Down here in tropical s.e. FL, we are able to garden all year long, so don’t notice a real difference. Although there are certain trees, etc. that bloom only in the spring and they are beautiful.
It is another perfectly gorgeous day down here and I try to be outside doing things on days like this.
Blooms below are from yesterday and this morning.
This new growth on my Lancepod Tree excited me to no end when I saw it yesterday. It is about 8 ft. tall with a tuft of growth at the top. I just planted this in the ground by the heart patio, to the west of the caravan. In time this will give some glorious, beautiful shade.
Clock vine.
I bought this orchid below around my birthday (March) last year and it is the Dancing Lady orchid and I am excitedly looking forward to seeing the blooms. I had this many, many years ago and lost it. There are two flower spikes below, the blooms will be yellow.

Gorgeous roses, Lorraine! I just posted mine from this morning! I am amazed when folks can remember all the names! I once had a huge Garden Party rose that was so amazing, I never forgot it's name! Mine are all mostly mini roses from the grocery store now! I am finding a flush of blooming going on right now...you too??? Loving this weather! Just gorgeous, is right!!! Have a great day!

Your roses are just out of this world beautiful!! Do you have problems with diseases on them? My roses get black spots on their leaves then completely defoliate. I just saw shoots from my surprise lilies ~ hope they don't get killed by another cold spell!

Oh, your beautiful photos and the way you talk about the weather not changing makes my gardening heart want to come to Florida! Here in the west part of Texas the weather is getting warmer and the tulips are breaking ground........however, the high winds and dirt have started kicking up. It is a constant struggle to try to keep blooms on even the trees. But for what ever I am able to get to bloom, I am grateful. Love your pretty blog!

ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful roses! I'd be hard-pressed to choose a favorite. I love the color of the one that is rather lilac in shade, but OH, I love the ones with heady scent and many pedals. You're so fortunate to have such a garden. Love the big ball, and your reflection :) That was a kind gift for him to give you.

I am watching my "America" climbing rose beginning to grow up the arbor next to my patio in the back yard..so far only a few blooms..but by the end of this year I am hoping it blooms and finally reaches the top..This will be the third arbor I've covered with America. I loved seeing all of your roses..and like me, some of the names of mine have disappeared. I want one called IRISH HOPE so badly. I bought one once and it died..due to my own fault. I didn't get it planted in time.

Hi Lorraine, nice to see some of the roses that are growing in your garden. I love 'Louis Philippe'. My other favorites are 'Heirloom', 'Mister Lincoln' and 'Rose de Rescht'. The latter seems to do quite well in your garden. I remember when you got it as a band not too long ago and now it is blooming so nicely already! Happy gardening!

Lorraine, I enjoyed your colorful post! I have several Mr.Lincoln roses. My Mother-in-law used to give them to me. They grow very tall, and they smell oh so good!
