I felt better after working outside, which wasn't as bad temperature wise as it had been, plus we had a breeze, and where I was working still had some shade.

Our weather is expected to cool down somewhat in the next week or so and we are so ready for that.

The economy being the way it is, I'm not buying any new plants. I'm growing from seeds and cuttings. It is a real bummer when we lose plants we enjoy, but it's all part of life. Planting seeds and watching them sprout and grow is exciting. Taking cuttings and seeing them root and take off is wonderful too.

Thanks again for stopping by to read and leave your comments. It is all greatly appreciated.

FlowerLadyFlowerLady Lorrainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17678852154334714784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5353873250655389819.post-20586869911861245692009-10-11T15:03:12.184-04:002009-10-11T15:03:12.184-04:00Hello FlowerLady,

I know that most of us have our favorite plants in the garden and feel their losses more then our other plants. I am looking forward to seeing what you replace them with.

I hope your weather cools down soon - and it will :-)Noelle Johnson https://www.blogger.com/profile/12198931083102476324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5353873250655389819.post-45930572100524953232009-10-11T14:46:04.043-04:002009-10-11T14:46:04.043-04:00Hi FlowerLady,

I can't empathize with your heat problems right now, though, as it is currently 38 degrees at 1:41 p.m. central time. I am grieving the end of the season. As I pulled into the driveway after church, I looked over at my garden across the street, and was unprepared to see the devastation the freeze caused.

I like what you said about straightening our shoulders, smiling, and being thankful. Yes, we do have much to be thankful for.Corner Gardener Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10631500918579405664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5353873250655389819.post-8942556381272665962009-10-11T14:45:37.284-04:002009-10-11T14:45:37.284-04:00Ah, bummer. Knowing you however, you will find new and beautiful roses to take their places and be grateful for the time you had with the others. Chin up my friend. There is a wonderful new plant out there looking for a happy new home.LeSanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07939320676822416742noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5353873250655389819.post-20245096553036427442009-10-11T10:49:51.178-04:002009-10-11T10:49:51.178-04:00It is depressing to lose such beautiful roses, and...It is depressing to lose such beautiful roses, and to have hot weather in August. I lost a collection of iris because of too wet of season. I couldn't stop any of it from happening. Take heart that you don't have control of all the conditions down there and you do live in a state with extremes.L.
