Good evening fellow bloggers.
This morning I took a picture of my Confederate Rose bloom, and it was white. When I got home from work this evening, it was pink. It is a single variety of Hibiscus mutabilis and I love it. I grew this from seed this spring and I am thrilled, to say the least, with the resulting plant/blooms. My gardens are sub-tropical, zone 10 in s.e. FL.
Sometimes life can get us down, but all we have to do is take a walk in our gardens and we are lifted up.
Here are the three pictures from today. Tomorrow the flower will be a thing of the past, but not forgotten.

ReplyDeleteWhat a proud mama you must be! I like it both colors. I had a volunteer hibiscus this summer, but it had too many other plants growing around it, and I missed the buds opening up. I imagine the plant will get taller next summer, so that will help me not miss the blooms next time.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are lovely! I'm growing Hibiscus mutabilis too, from a stem that I propagated. It hasn't borne any flowers till now.
ReplyDeleteI was afraid of that.....I can't grow this plant. The bloom looks very much like my hibiscus syriacus and hibiscus moscheutos known locally as Rose of Sharon and Rose Mallow.
