Summer Weather in November

Hi Folks ~ Well, here it is the 13th of November and at around 12:40 EST it is 86, with 60% humidity so it feels like it is 106.  Sheesh! I am indoors though, house cleaning/straightening as I have guests, my dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law coming to visit tomorrow. I’m looking forward to our time together.

Below are some blooms from my gardens.

Creeping Lantana ~ grows very well for me

This is a bloom from one of two small daisy tree plants I bought in the spring. One plant croaked, but this one is doing well

Next is Miss Tork. My bed is high and is a nice space to work on so I brought my fabric in to make the bed skirt, cutting and pinning it to hem. I took a lunch break and when I came back someone had made herself right at home in the middle of the project. Smile

Doesn’t she look comfortable?

I’ve been trying to introduce Miss Tork and Miss Rosie, and there was hissing on Miss Tork’s part, so I said O K. So much for that.  Miss Rosie will be my outdoor girl. It is fun having her romp around while I’m outside. It will be time to take her to get her fixed soonly.  I’m not sure how old she is, maybe 3-4 months. I don’t think I can take her in until she’s at least 5 months old. I need to check the info out again.

I hope you all have a great weekend whatever you are doing, wherever you are.

Thank you for your kind and encouraging comments about my set up at the little flea market.

Happy November ~ FlowerLady

Hi FlowerLady,
The heat is just crazy this year. It's been good for my tomatoes and squash, but not my lettuce.
Your blooms are all beautiful! It even looks like summer in your garden.
Enjoy your company, and your weekend.

The cats are so precious! I have several, all at the barns, and rarely even get to pet one; miss it so much. Some feel they have to hiss at me when I feed them!

I envy you the warm temps. It is cold and windy here. So nice to have company and I was cleaning house today too.

That is such a beautiful orchid blooming - I love the lime green. All your flowers are so pretty. I know, it is so hard to move our furry children when they make themselves so comfy and look so adorable, lol! Enjoy your weekend company!

I ditto what Rebecca wrote. A comfy bed surrounded by books, not to mention the sweet cuddly cat: Heaven on earth.

I love Lantana. And that GATE! :)

Enjoy your visit. :)

Your flowers are beautiful. I am down to bare branches and empty pots. I'm pretty jealous!

It's ridiculously hot here too--and dry. I hope we both get some cooler weather soon. Miss Tork certainly does look comfy, and your bedroom looks so cozy, like something out of a movie or magazine. The rosebud fabric is just adorable--I'm sure it will make the prettiest bed skirt!

Oh my gosh, Miss Tork is adorable! I have to admit, I love walking into the bedroom to find a Chihuahua sacked out on the bed, right in the middle of my laundry. I laugh every time. Laundry is usually the only thing on my bed for them to get into :-)

Hope you are having a great weekend FlowerLady!

I always love visiting you for a bit of flower beauty and, well it's always a really nice visit. Northern Indiana has been having a mild November..our normal temp should be mid 50's. It's been a bit warmer most days though be got some cold wind from a blizzard that hit out west.

Have a wonderful weekend.
xx, Carol

Rainey, it's usual to wait until 6 months to spay a female. I've got 2 that need spaying...a mother and her kitten and the kitten is about 4 months old. I'm glad she's going into winter...might keep her from going into heat. It's taken me a year to lightly stroke the mother...she's skittish.
We've had several frosts and one wood rack is loaded. I'm not quite ready for winter but getting closer. At night I'm sleeping in flannel night gowns under wool blankets. The dogs snuggle so close I can't turn over so they're feeling the cold as well.
Stay safe and best of success on your new (ad)venture.

Your fall weather is similar to ours but we know a cool down is on the way soon for us.
Your flowers are beautiful. Gorgeous green and that gate is so charming. Love how Miss Tork made herself comfy on your project. Too bad she and Miss Rosie are not making friends yet. Maybe they will in time.
Enjoy your company and a nice visit. Happy Weekend. xo

typical cat! It seems a shame to disturb her.

I will be awaiting the finished bed skirt project. It will fit your cottage perfectly.

Our weather is very different from yours now but still not too bad for fall.

I have the furnace running!

I love lantana in the summer...it does well here for the months when we don't have a lot of rain.

They'll hiss around for a few days and then be best friends in the end if you decide to let Rosie in :)

Oh she is lovely! Love your material too. Enjoy your family visit. Hugs, Kit

Looks to me like Miss Tork has claimed that bedding.

I agree that it's been too hot for November. It felt great outside today. Hope you're getting some of the cooler temps by now. Miss Tork will eventually come around. I have 4 kitties and they get along well most of the time. Two of them love each other and are best buds. You can get the new kitty spayed now. They do it a lot earlier these days. Don't wait too long or she might surprise you with kittens.

We've had quite the warm November thus far. I keep hearing it's going to be a cold winter, but I'll be happy if these warm temperatures stick around for awhile. your kitty is cute, typical cat, they always find the best spot in the house. Are you enjoying your BSF bible study? I've only been two weeks but have gotten so much out of it so far. Hope you have a good week....always enjoy your flowers...Blessings

I hope you enjoyed your company! Always so fun to have family come for a visit. I always smile when cats plop themselves right in the middle of projects.

Such beautiful flowers! I just love how cats find the prettiest and coziest spot in the house to nap! Your bed skirt is going to be so sweet. Hope you have a lovely visit and that it cools down for you soon. Kitties always have hissy fits when they first meet, don't they? :) Hugs xo Karen

Lovely flowers! Don't give up on Miss Tork and Miss Rosie bonding. I had the same problem with my two cats. However it just took a few weeks of patience listening to the grumbling...........but now they sleep together and eat together. I just adore the kitty on you fabric!

Naughty Miss Tork hissing at the baby...lol...they can definitely be contrary at moments but the love they bring to our life is so good. I love all my cats. I only have one at the moment...my naughty Mr. Buttons led my kitten off to the neighbors somewhere and I haven't been able to find her. I imagine one of the neighbors couldn't resist such a sweet kitty. Your blooms are beautiful. We are at our last...the leaves are beginning to fall now and I had to move my plants inside today. That is such a chore for sure.

I love the name Miss Tork, it's a curious moniker. She looks so much like my new stray! But yours is fat and sassy, I see. Our temps today are also summer-like...still everything in site has turned to brown and gray.

Hi Lorraine! I just love your beautiful cottage. I loved the photo of the pretty gate with that wonderful orchid peeping through. What a sweet kitty - and isn't that just so typical that they make themselves comfortable right in the middle of a project. So sweet!
Have a wonderful weekend and also a very Happy Thanksgiving.

The first photo of the creeping Lantana at the gate is stunning and would make a beautiful card. We don't grow that plant around here to my knowledge. I've never seen it for sale in any local nurseries. Does it have a pleasant fragrance ?

Don't you just love the way cats make our lives so much richer and fun ? They really do seem to be able to find the softest and most comfy places in and around the home and usually spread out and sleep in ( or on ) whatever project I am working on.

Blessings to you this Thanksgiving.
