Hurray for chilly temps :-)

Good Monday morning Friends ~ After rains on Sat and yesterday, cooler temps moved in. I checked accu-weather a little while ago and it was 62, feeling like it is 58. Oh how wonderful that feels! I see that some of you have gotten your first snow of the season. Pictures look so pretty.  We are to have cooler temps all week, yippee!

I’ve started a beaded phone case, and if this turns out nice, I hope to make more to sell in my Etsy shop.

I took a piece of lace and am beading over the flowers. Have drawn out some stems for smaller flowers, then the rest will just be filled in with beads.

Below is a collage of three of my beaded brooches which are now in my Etsy shop.

I went outside yesterday for something or other and spied this string of caterpillars on my Dwarf white orchid tree.  I have no idea if they are a moth or a butterfly.

They were making their way to the leaves at the top of the stem. I went out later and the stem was clear of cats and I thought to myself, where did they go.  Then I saw them all clustered and eating away at the ‘leaf diner’.  Sorry for the blurry photos.

Now for some more photos of one of my favorite roses, ‘Kathleen’. Photos taken with my Canon PowerShot A650.

That’s it for now. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and I better get going as things need doing around here before company comes on Thursday.

Happy Thanksgiving preparations.

That string of caterpillars is highly unusual, isn't it?
Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Your rose ´Kathleen´ is a real beauty, can understand this is your favorite! Then the string of caterpillars never seen such thing before, many caterpillars here too, but how they are following each other, amazing.
Wish you a great Thanksgiving.

We would be having a heat wave at 62 degrees. That is an interesting rose that blooms with all those yellow stamens.

Beautiful bead work, as always. You have so many talents, I would never have thought to use the lace as a pattern.
Your 'Kathleen' rose is lovely, I have always liked single petal roses. I had
a single petal 'Dainty Bess', but lost her a year or two ago.
I hope the cats are butterflies and not moths. Enjoy this weather!

The beach was beautiful today . those flower pictures are pretty....you should make a collage of that one and enlarge and frame it! I dont know how you make the beadwork......such detail!!! Its lovely Lorraine!!

hooray for your cooler temps! I know that's such a relief and joy. I LOVE it when summer is over :) AFter seeing your string of caterpillars, I jumped over to google. Processionary caterpillars, I think. When they are done on a tree, sometimes there are as many as 300 cats, in a line, going along the ground. Quite impressive.
Happy Thanksgiving to you! I hope you have a lovely holiday.

It is so strange to see so much green and flowering. On a good note, I am headed your way in a week to attend and present at an education conference. I am so excited to enjoy your weather--though accuweather tells me most of the time that I will be there it will be raining. I'm excited anyway! Happy Thanksgiving, dear lady!

Happy Thanksgiving, Rainey! The caterpillars were really hungry, wow, I've never seen anything like that. Your beadwork is stunning to say the least, just gorgeous. We haven't had snow yet, but supposedly will by morning, it's been raining here all day and is downright nasty. I spent the day baking and shopping since Thanksgiving will be tomorrow here for us as Joel had other obligations. I need to clean.....I don't want to, but I have to! I guess having company is a good way to force myself to get things done, right? Hugs to you, my dear friend.

What a fascinating string of caterpillars! I have never seen anything like that before. Your bead work is just so beautifully detailed and that Kathleen Rose is just stunning. Enjoy the cooler temperatures although I think the temps are fluctuating a bit right now and it doesn't seem to be able to make its mind up what it wants to do! I have had sun, rain, cool and then humid all in one day today!
