Hurray!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts about my going to the dentist on Friday. For something not being planned, it sure all came together, and I was in and out, minus the offending tooth, in under an hour. She gave me the ‘sr. citizens’ novocaine amount, and I did much better this time than last. The numbness was gone by 2 p.m.

She had give me a prescription for pain, Vicodin (sp.?) and my sis-in-law said that’s really strong and makes one feel loopy. I decided not to fill the prescription.  I had already did the credit card thing, but the pharmacist said I didn’t have to take the prescription if I didn’t want to. He reversed the credit card payment, and I opted for Ibuprophen, which I ended up only taking three of.  The Vicodin would have been $30 for 12. I don’t think so.

Anyway, I feel so much better having that tooth gone. It’s been bothering me for quite awhile now.  I may end up getting a partial plate, but not right now.  I was so thankful for my sis-in-law being with me.  She was GREAT moral support.

Yesterday morning I moved potted roses to a sunnier location, now that the sun is heading south, they were not getting enough sunlight. I did a little weeding too, but that was it for outside work, about an hour. I came in ate some yogurt, took and ibu. then took a nap.

I took some pics of blooming flowers the other day.  The gardens are so overgrown from all of the rain we’ve been getting. I look forward to getting out there and tackling the overgrowth. Fall is coming and I keep feeling it in the air.

Now here are my latest bead creations. I learned how to make little beaded wire flower sprays the other day, by watching you-tube tutorials.

This one I made for and gave to my sis-in-law, Sue, for taking me out to see my mother. It has seed beads, bugle beads, and fresh water pearls.

This one is made with seed beads, bugle beads and an antique rhinestone as the large flower center.

This one I’ve started the beaded edging on but it doesn’t show up very well, so will choose other beads, plus I had forgotten to sew on the pin back to the back of pin, so had to pull the two pieces apart, they were glued.

This is the one I’ve been working on, started it yesterday morning. Look at my bent beading needle.  This is what happens to them after awhile of being used. Smile This needle has a big eye, which I love, there’s a big split in the needle that you spread apart to put the thread through. Easy peasy.

I want to thank you all for you kind and encouraging comments about my Mom and I and our visit. I encourage those who need to put the past behind, to do so, if at all possible. I know some times it is not, because of circumstances. So much of what we go through though is really petty in the overall scheme of things.

As we age we see things differently, losing someone changes our views of things too.

I think most families have ‘stuff’ that needs to be released so that they can be free to grow, as families and individuals.

To forgive is to set a prisoner free
and discover that the prisoner was you.

Forgiveness is a funny thing.
It warms the heart and cools the sting.
William Arthur Ward

Forgiveness does not change the past,
but it does enlarge the future.
Paul Boese

God’s blessings on all of us as we live our lives each and every day.

That’s it for now. Time for some supper. Thunder is rumbling to the south. Which reminds me, I had another lightening strike real close as I was rinsing my feet with the garden hose the other day. Sheesh. Thunder had been in the distance that time too, like that last close strike, and no other strikes that close afterwards.

Have a great week ~ FlowerLady

I always love coming here and seeing the beautiful flowers you show. And I love the hearts you made, especially the first one. I have flower beds that need a bit of work too!

It's so inspiring seeing all the pretty things you make. I love the beaded wire flower sprays! Your flower pictures are so pretty too. My favorite is the Picnic rose--so cute!

I'm glad the dentist visit wasn't too bad. i don't have a fear of the dentist, although I will put off going to the doctor (esp. for pap smear) for EVER :) Ah well. You amaze me with how MUCH you work outside in the heat! I jut can't do it. Adam loves it though, so it works out okay. I have to wait for autumn and cool temps to do yard work. Blessings on you this week!

I never tire of seeing your lovely flowers--most of them being unfamiliar to me.
Your beading and embroidery are so delicate and pretty. I can relate to a bent needle--that is what happens to mine when I attempt to hand quilt!

Glad things went well with the dentist, not my favorite thing to do. It's better t put the past behind when at all possible. It's something by the Lord's grace Im try int put things behind me but its not easy. In the end I,m sure I will be the benefits from it but like I said not easy...it's going to have to be the Lord. Your flowers as always are lovely, hope you have a wonderful week.

Glad your dental appointment went well. Good you didn't get the Vicodin -- that stuff is also highly addictive, one of the most abused prescription drugs out there. Not that you would . . . but I "enjoyed" my Vicodin too much, and had a real withdrawal from it. Now I won't touch the stuff.
Your beaded hearts are beautiful! I can see the one I got from your shop from where I'm typing. It is displayed on my china hutch, love it!

Beautiful flowers. I didn't get any in at all this summer, but my daughters rose bush is still full of roses. I hope to put in a few pots of mums for the fall and then dreams of the flower beds for spring!

Your bead crafts are so lovely.

I have forgiven everyone who has ever hurt me but some people, especially certain family members, are so incredibly lost and immersed in their own egos that they would be toxic for me to be around. I'm happier without them. But sometimes people change over the years and for those that do, I think it's really nice to repair relationships.

I'm one of those who fills a prescription, reads the information that comes with it, and gets too scared to take it without trying other options first.

They always have told me that if I lose a tooth and don't get a bridge for it, my remaining teeth will try to fill in the gap and I will get wider spaces between them. Or they will say that the jawbone starts deteriorating as soon as a tooth is removed. Might all be scare tactics in order to require another procedure, it's hard to tell these days in which it's all about the dollar. We just can't tell who to believe.

I bend my quilting needles, too. Heh. Hugs xoxoxo

I'm glad the dentist went smoothly. In my opinion, doctors hand out prescriptions for narcotics a little too frequently. I used to have chronic migraines and headaches, and Vicodin was one of my prescriptions. It never made me feel better the way that taking a low dosage anti-depressant combined with eating clean, exercising, and getting enough sleep has. People want a quick fix for problems, but sometimes the answer takes a little more effort than people want to give. Not picking on anyone that needs those prescriptions, but they didn't work for me.

I love your beadwork. It's gorgeous. One of my goals is to learn how to sow, this is giving me a little inspiration to get started :)

Have a great week!

I am glad that you made out so well at the dentist. My own dentist is so incredibly gentle...but his hygienist is anything but! Therefore, I dread the biannual cleaning much more than any dental work I may need. Ugh. Anyway, I am glad that your experience was good and mostly that you have experienced relief from that pain.

What a blessing your visit with your mother must have been! Forgiveness is not an easy thing, and putting hurts in the past is a hard choice, so I admire you for doing just that.

You have been doing hard things lately!

You have been through a lot this last week. I can't believe you were able to pick up a potted plant after having a tooth pulled. You are one tough lady!

I'm glad you are mending fences with your mom too. My mom and her mother hadn't spoken since I was about 12 and it affected our whole family. For the last ten years I had been praying that they would work things out, but my mother refused to forgive and now my grandmother is gone. My mother thought it was just between her and her mother, but it also kept me from knowing my grandmother and my kids from knowing their great grandmother.

Forgiveness is hard, but doing it lifts such a burden. Unforgiveness hurts the person holding the grudge far more than the other person. I admire you taking the first step to change your relationship.

I hate the dentist too! I get almost sick when I have to go. Glad your visit went well and you are feeling so much better.

I like the new addition to your window view. I am also so happy that you visited your Mom. I don't know what the issue was but it was time for it to be healed. The picture of you two is a treasure. You do know you and she look a great deal like each other don't you. I know you will feel more at peach now.

Bless you both.

Dentists are no fun. So glad you got it fixed. I also grow pentas here for the first time and I love them! Pink ones are pretty. Mine are red this year but I'll try a different color next year I think.

Good morning!

I'm so glad your dentist appointment went well. I hate the dentist too, so I tend to put those things of as well.

And I'm glad your visit with your mom went well. I've had problems off and on with mine, but I think it's all been put aside now. You're right about things changing as you get older.

Your flowers are beautiful as always and I love your new creations. Such talent!

I'm just now catching up on blogs after being out of town a couple of days. Glad to hear your dental work is over and that you're feeling OK. I hate dental work too - have a terrible dental phobia - so I know what you mean about feeling so nervous.

I'm also glad to hear that you and your mom put the past behind you and had a lovely visit. As we know, life is too short to hold grudges and not talk to one another.

Your needlework is amazing...love all those little beads.

"loopy" is a gentle way of putting it...that stuff knocks me on my behind and gives me all sorts of trouble staying on my feet. Not good when animals depend upon me. Good for you for not taking it and getting your money back!

I am so very, very glad you at this time with your mom. I agree with your comment, some things just need to be left in the past. Sadly some people never come to that realization in life. What a beautiful picture of you and your mom, and so happy for your crane reminder of your time together. Hope the future affords you more visits with her.
