Success!!!!

What a long day, 8-5:30, but we did it!!! I am so ready for bed and I know Todd will be too.  He had an hour’s drive before getting home to a hot shower.  He took a cold mntn. dew for the ride home. There was most definitely a leak in the pipe under the house, doing that work took almost 2 hours.  Todd did a fantastic job and we were so glad when we turned on the water and there were no leaks anywhere.  He did work with copper/soldering and pvc. I put a fan under the house to blow on him, from the tight entry way in the kitchen’s screened porch. The fan is an old GE, heavy motor and casing and probably weights at least 10 lbs.  he said 25. I stayed at the opening in case he needed anything, and for morale support. I prayed that he would be safe and that it would all go smoothly.

We didn’t quite get the shower plumbing finished, but he’ll come back another day an finish that.  We were both tired, it was time to quit.  We did take out the other metal shelf unit and brought in that curbside shopped oak and presswood piece.  Oh my gosh that thing is heavy.  I still don’t see how I got it into the van myself.

Thanks for all your good wishes, thoughts and prayers for this plumbing project. We were so glad there were no leaks when we turned the water back on.

Lunch was good, and we enjoyed our time working together.

That’s it for now. I’m going to eat a bit of supper and ‘hit the rack’ as they say in the Navy. (I was married to a sailor.) I woke up around 3:45 this morning couldn’t get back to sleep, so got up about 4:15.

Have a nice Sunday and I’ll post again later with pictures when we finish the job, which might not be for a week or so with that. Thanksgiving is this week.

So glad all went well for you. We have drain problems here and the farmer is old enough now he doesn't really feel like crawling underneath the house, but he's so used to doing everything for himself he doesn't want to hire someone to do it for him. So I continue washing dishes in the sink and draining my washer through a pipe out the window (we live in the country :) so it doesn't bother anyone).

You may have woke at such a time because you were over-tired Lorraine. What a day! What a fabulous outcome! You must feel as though a huge weight has been lifted from your shoulders.
The rest of the job to final completion sounds a lot easier perhaps and can afford to wait a little while.
Really wonderful news, and enjoy Thanksgiving.
Hugs

Success is not always measured in University Degrees, the wages at the end of the week, the vehicle parked outside the garage so all can see its grandeur, but in everyday things, and plumbing success is right at the top of the list. Well done to you both, I'm so glad all went well. Fond greetings to you, and thanks from me to Todd for his ready/steady, and hard working hands, from Jean.

How relieved you must feel to have this much done! And kudos to Todd! Plumbing skill/knowledge is a definite blessing.

I've sure been enjoying the other episodes of Bronson Pinchot's Greek Revival renovation series. Thank you for the link. Without cable, etc. we are kind of ignorant about what's OUT there :)

I've not adjusted to our time change yet so was up as early as you this morning. Then I find myself nodding off at 8:00 p.m. Not sure how I'm going to get through the winter...

Glad he got so much done for you. That definitely would have cost you a small fortune paying a plumber. It's so nice that he is doing this all for you.

Glad to hear things went so well. I know you'll be happy when everything's finished and your "head" is all working properly. (I'm an old Navy wife, too, USS Enterprise, including Pueblo Incident, 1967-68)

Hi Lorraine, I am really happy for you that you got that leak fixed under the house. You must feel so relieved! How nice that you had someone do the work for you. That is priceless! Wishing you that Thanksgiving will not be too hard on you and that you maybe can even enjoy it just a little!

I'm glad Ted was about to fix that leak for you! A few months ago the pipe from our pressure tank burst and there was 6" of water under the whole house.

Hi Lorraine,

I'm glad you've got such a skilled handyman to help out with those projects. The crawl space is an especially scary place, especially when power tools are required. Bravo that it's all fixed. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving my dear friend.

So glad your plumbing project went well. I don't know how those guys crawl under small places and do that work.
