Sunrise, gift, dinner

Good Sunday morning Folks ~ I do hope you’ve been having a lovely weekend so far and hope that the coming week is a good one for you.

I’m now into taking sunrise photos as I remember to do so, don’t always remember until it’s too late.  These three are taken inside our screened room off the back of our cottage. Our hot tub, claw foot tub and outdoor shower are here and Miss Tork hangs out in here too. Screened areas at your entry ways keeps mosquitoes out of your homes. Anyway, DH made this whole aluminum framework from pieces we had scavenged curbside. He drew up the plans in one of his computer programs and went to work.  I’ll have to show that at a later date, now that I think about it. We had three of the domed glasses, one is used in the top of this screened room, the other two are in two workshop windows. Oh yea, we used curbside found screening too, so it does have some wrinkles in it. Part of living frugally, resourcefully and creatively.

You can see the top of the clawfoot tub, and the 5 paned window of the scullery.

Morning Has Broken by Judy Collins

When I got home from work yesterday there was a pkg. all the way from Australia from a wonderful needle worker, Suzy. Her works are so beautiful and thoughtful, each one created with love and the joy of creating. You can visit her beautiful blog Suzyqus Threadworks. Her lovely works will inspire you, I know they have me.

I loved how it was gift wrapped in a sheet of old sewing pattern, tied with ribbon and decorated with a sweet posy. A treasure.

This beautiful piece is 7” x 18” and I have it hanging in my bedroom.

I had a dinner invitation on the phone machine when I got home from work also, from my sweet friend Julie. She’s a single mom with three kids from 22-14 and she was fixing tacos for supper would I like to join them. Tacos is my all time favorite comfort food and being with her and her kids would be a treat and a change from eating alone. I had a nice time, the food was delicious and I was proud of myself for going out at night, in the dark, and making it back home. She doesn’t live that far away, so that was nice. Mark and I were a couple of homebodies so going out after dark is strange and a tad scary for me. Anyway, I’m glad I went and I know Mark would be happy I did and proud of me too.

It was nice to get back home to our little haven, and I loved and appreciated it all the more. I am so thankful for it and for all the projects Mark did around here to make it uniquely and creatively our ‘home sweet home’. Our haven from the hectic world that we live in.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday or maybe Monday wherever you are.

I'm not sure I've ever seen this screened-in room of yours before! How unique and wonderful.

It IS Sunday morning here. Still dark, but I'm dressed for church and will be leaving the house soon to practice a bit on the keyboard before the rest of the "team" arrives.

It's been quite mild here the past day or so but is supposed to cool down and be winter again soon.

YOU have a blessed day, Lorraine. Keep creating.

Your screened room is just wonderful. What a great place to enjoy a lovely cool bath on a hot summer's evening while watching the hot sun go down. It's a fantastic addition to your home.

The gift was something special. How very thoughtful. It was also lovely to hear you had a dinner invitation, and that you enjoyed your evening out so much. Little pleasures such as these are just priceless.

Good, chilly morning to you, my friend. Its -8*F with a windchill of -19*F. Needless to say, your photos of the outdoor room are warming to the soul, thank you for sharing.
I understand going out after dark. I am not much for going out either. In fact, it is almost a no go here, but sometimes it has to be done.
Taco, all time favorite here too. Wonderful to share meals.
Have a wonderful, blessed Sunday, my friend.
Love and Hugs

That is a gorgeous screened room, so pretty :)

Love the gift, how thoughtful, I'm sure you'll cherish it for many years to come.

And good for you on going out to dinner with your friend. I must admit we are homebodies too and don't like going out at night either :)

I was introduced to the term 're-purposing' a few years ago. Its what you and Mark has so creatively done with bits and pieces.
I'm glad for the small joys and comforts coming your way and applaud your courage in reaching out to seize them.
You may feel you are the one being blessed--I think you're also a blessing!

I love tacos too. People like to reach out in all different ways, so well done for venturing out. I'm a home body too. I've had a wonderful, but tiring weekend in my garden, with soil and mulch to move and LOTS of weeding. My body is so sore. I can feel some sewing time coming on this week.
