The last Friday of 2011

Good morning Friends,

I hope you are gently unwinding from the Christmas holidays, and hope your new year celebrations will be nice ones.

I want to thank everyone who follows my blog, and all who leave comments.  I look forward to new year of visiting with you at your blogs and sharing what’s happening here in our little compound.

The ‘aromatherapy tree’ has turned brown, and will come down tomorrow.  It was a nice treat while it lasted.  Glad it wasn’t in our cottage dropping needles like crazy. Our little indoor decorated tree will come down on the 1st.  I left it up because I really love the lights and sparkle and sweetness of the ornaments.  It will be nice to get it all packed away again, and won’t take any time at all this year.

DH painted more floor tiles in the caravan yesterday. He took a break this past week. He also did some tree trimming yesterday and there’s more to do as this is all hanging over our driveway from the neighbor’s trees to the east of us and it is getting out of hand.  They are lovely, but they are a pain in the rear, and they just keep on growing and growing.

Today is my last day of work for this year.  I am so thankful for my job and that things are doing better there. Thank you for all of your prayers, they are much appreciated. We are hoping for a better 2012.

I’m crocheting, learning needle tatting, looking forward to being in the TAST project, am ready to embroider and bead again.  DH has helped me set up a spread sheet so that I can keep track of materials, etc. for my little Etsy shop.  I’ve got to take pictures, edit, upload, and list of items I’ll be selling in there and that’s going to take some time. Gardening is never done down here, so there is plenty for me to do outside.

Here are some pictures, which may be the last ones posted for this year.

Enjoy.

This first few pictures are of Mm. Laurette Messimy.

Lovely blooms. There is something about a Begonia that always looks so fresh and pretty.

Good morning Rainey! We had snow yesterday so winter has begun in earnest. It's always so nice to come here and get a taste of a tropical clime!

It's wonderful to look at your flowers while stuck with the wet, gray & chilly weather we have here.

(Is your job still the one at the Antique Store or did I miss that you got a different one? I've been wondering...)

I wish you and your husband a blessed and peaceful new year. My husband frequently checks in to see what YOUR husband is up to. He (my husband) is a handyman also.

Lovely closeup shots.

Even though I miss all the flowers in the garden this time of year I love having a rest from the garden to do other things. You must be kept soooooooooo busy fitting your gardening chores in with your craft business.

Have a Happy and Blessed New Year.

FL, so nice to hear things have been going well for you! I love your plans for 2012...you have a lot going on! Your blooms are beautiful. I'm so interested in the roses. You seem to always have success with them. I've not planted any and have been really tempted...just don't want high maintanance. Interested to hear your thoughts. I wish you and your DH a wonderful 2012!!

Dear FlowerLady, wishing you a wonderful 2012! I am looking forward to follow your lovely blog in the next year. The photos of the Cape Honeysuckle are amazing. Such an intense color. I also like the Blue Sage a lot. Can't remember seeing this variety. Thanks for sharing!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! The bee's seem to REALLY enjoy that honeysuckle! I've worked nearly 40 hours this week so haven't had much time to do anything but eat and sleep and try to stay ahead of the dishes and kitchen cleanliness. SO HAPPY FOR THE WEEKEND!

Mme Laurette Messimy is gorgeous! I am glad you can still enjoy rose blooms. I had to check the link to your aromatherapy tree, I thought it was some Florida native :). Our Christmas tree is coming down next week too, and unlike you, I will vacuuming the needles from under the rug for the next 6 months :(. Still, I like to be reminded of Christmas. I hope you have a good new year's.

Such beautiful blooms! It must be hard to never, ever get to rest from the garden. A blessing and a curse, I suppose. Have a very Happy New Year. I really hope 2012 will be a great year for you.

I like that you call your tree the "aromatherapy" tree! How very true! All your photos are glorious and make me miss the growing season just that much more.
