R.I.P. Gary Moore

We just learned via the web that one of our favorite guitarists died, at the age of 58.

We enjoy different kinds of music, but Gary Moore's music really touched our hearts and souls. The first three videos below really spoke to us.

The Messiah Will Come Again.

Parisenne Walkway

The Prophet

Stormy Monday

has always been a favorite by several blues musicians.

The Sky is Crying

Still Got The Blues

I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights;
and you have yours.
But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love,
belong to all of us,
in all times and in all places.
Music is the only means
whereby we feel these emotions in their universality.
H.A. Overstreet

Music is the universal language of mankind.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Outre-Mer

Music expresses that which cannot be said
and on which it is impossible to be silent.
Victor Hugo

Music is an outburst of the soul.
Frederick Delius

Music expresses feeling and thought,
without language;
it was below and before speech,
and it is above and beyond all words.
Robert G. Ingersoll

Music is the literature of the heart;
it commences where speech ends.
Alphonse de Lamartine

After silence,
that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible
is music.
Aldous Huxley, Music at Night and Other Essays
