The Month of June

Good morning everyone. Coffee just finished perking so I'm about to have that first wonderful sip.

I've got several things I want to do today, and by the end of the day I'll see how many of them I accomplished. :-) There is clean laundry to fold and put away, a couple of potted plants I want to move to the front patio, some garden clean up from yesterday, fill some of my embroidered sachets with French lavender, fill some gelatin caps with herbs (my herb order came in late yesterday afternoon), I'd like to embroider more on my zebra longwing, I hope to make a homemade pizza for supper tonight too.

Yesterday morning I did some work weeding, trimming and planting of my little sheds garden. DH weed wacked for me since I was having cramping muscles in my right/back/shoulder blade/rib cage area. I had mowed the day before, and a couple of areas needed to be trimmed with the weed wacker. I love gardening and enjoy the work, but lately, sometimes I have to ask for help.

Yesterday I noticed my lily or iris plant had the flower stems and I had to take a couple of pictures. I don't know if this is a candy lily or a blackberry lily, should know in a day or so. I loved the way the sun lit up the leaves with the stem and buds inside.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hi there Flower Lady,
My list is long today as well and I should be outside already to pot up some things and put some bulbs in the ground. Alas, I am dawdling here at the computer. Love the irises with the backlight. I took some similar photos yesterday. I'm not sure what is the difference between candy lily and blackberry lily? I have some that are about to pop with flowers given to me by my neighbor. She didn't know their name and I assumed candy lily.

Enjoy your day. I have a feeling you'll get to most of your list.

Can't wait to see the blooms! I have never seen a candy lily but we have blackberry lillies. I have been checking everyday for signs of blooms. So far there arent any but I forgot to check last night!
Here's wishing you a pain free day.

Oooo, I love your buds of anticipation. Those lists can get cumbersome but it feels so good to cross off an accomplished task. Hope you have a productive and enjoyable day doing the things you love.

Hi,

You've been working so hard! But, we do love it anyway, don't we?

I'm so glad you posted that photo so that I could see the foliage. Patsi sent me blackberry lily seeds two years ago. I have foliage just like yours in my garden and I was hoping it would be the blackberry lily!

Have a good day.

I love to hear about your days. Be careful with yourself, you may have to rest that sore area for a few weeks. Homemade pizza sounds wonderful ! take care, Gina

Hi Rainey! I kind of fell down a rabbit hole the past couple of months. It was nice to reconnect with your blog. It still is one of the most lovely ones on the web!

I can almost smell the nice aroma of your morning coffee. I always have one at the start of every morning, and it should be black. Do take good care so as not to overstress yourself. I like how the bud peeked out from the fresh green leaves. June is so beautiful.

Beautiful quote. Hope you accomplish your goals. Mostly I set goals/lists on weekends or I'll get nothing done. I have a list of gardening chores to do and one of them I hate is edging the grass that is creeping into my front bed that has no edging. I am gonna have to edge it with some stones. Have a good day. You sure do keep busy, don't you? :) I hope you get everything you need done! I can't wait to see more of your progress on the zebra longwing. I love those kinds of projects. :)

The sunlight does look pretty coming through the leaves. I have neither of the lilies you mentioned so will be interested in seeing it.

I made pizza yesterday! I still have enough dough in the frig for one more and I think enough sauce. I cooked it in the countertop oven so I wouldn't heat up the house. It worked great. I had to make it in the pan that came with the oven but it worked out well.

Have a nice evening.

I've been asking for help from the boys this summer as well. I've gotten so out-of-shape and over-weight making some things a lot harder (and me a lot slower). I guess I need to get moving doing something about it! Can't wait to see the new buds bloomed!

I will be anxious to see that iris bloom. My brother can grow iris in Arizona also. I thought it would be too hot, but I bet you keep them watered.

Flowerlady: I thought I wrote a comment this morning to this post, but seems it did not show. Anyway, hope you got to accomplish as much as you wanted for today. Very lovely picture, and I am looking forward to seeing the flower of your lily!

I really like the lily or iris picture, makes waiting for the flower even more exciting.
You have been busy! I can't wait for some free days to get outside and play in my garden.

Your day sounds like mine-a neverending list of chores that I hope I accomplish. I like the attitude that we'll see at the end of the day. Beats the attitude I must I must I must....Have a great day.
