Midweek

Here it is another 'hump' day, the middle of yet another week. This morning we went out to do one thing and then came back in when we were finished. It felt good to get back inside.

Yesterday morning DH wanted to start pressure cleaning/washing sidewalks and patios so that's what we did. What a job that always is and what a difference when we are done. You really don't realize just how dirty concrete gets. We still have a little more to do, maybe tomorrow morning, we took a break from that project today.

Click on pictures for a larger view.

This first three pictures are of some of what we did.
We now have an albino frog,
it won't take long before he starts collecting a patina.
It's nice to see the color of the pavers again.

I just can't get over these benches on the front patio, they glow.
They are old and gorgeous all cleaned up.

Here we are on the east side of our cottage. The patio and sidewalk which were once gray now have color. We are going to be pressure cleaning our cottage too, so that we can caulk seams and then paint it again.

Penelope is in the next two pictures.
I just love her creamy, coloring,
with a hint of caramel.

Below are two sachets I made, just waiting to be filled with French lavender flowers, which I'm expecting in the mail by the end of the week. Then I'll stitch them up and plan to put them in my little Etsy shop. I love the scent of lavender, it is very soothing.

The embroidery behind the two sachets is another piece I'm working on.

May you all have a peaceful day tomorrow.

Go to a garden
And just stand in it.
Breathe in the air, the fragrances,
the light, the temperature,
the music of the different plants,
insects, birds, worms,
caterpillars, grasshoppers, and butterflies.
Inhale the prana (cosmic energy) of all the abundantly
growing things.
Recharge your inner batteries.
This is the joy of natural meditation."

Power washing... Last time I did that, I hurt my back... But you are right, results are always amazing! Everything looks good in your pictures. The benches are great. Tell me if you decide to sell them. I'll carry them to the west on my own back!
Your saches are oh so lovely!

How fresh everything looks!

I thought I had a Penelope, now I see yours, I am not so sure.

Have a great day.

Always delightful to have a peek into your garden. The front patio looks great.

I am a fan of patina, but cleaned walkways always look better.

Oh, everything looks so pretty. At least it is wet work for a hot day. LOL!
Your garden looks so wonderful. You have so many plants sticking in everywhere.
Your sachets are just so pretty. You do beautiful embroidery work.

Power washing and all its assorted splashing sounds like a great job when the weather is hot. Nice results too.

Your hard work paid off....the concrete looks absolutely new again! Be sure to take the weekend off! :)

Men always want to pressure clean...at least my husband does. I roll my eyes each time but really appreciate the results. Your efforts have paid off..everything looks clean and bright. Question...I think I spotted a Vanda in your patio garden. Is it planted in the ground? Actually, I didn't enlarge the photo so I'm going back to check it out again. I'm somewhat new to orchids and have a fresh little baby vanda on my patio now. Hmmmm....!

I went back for a closer look at the vanda, but I'm still not sure. It appears that it's planted in the ground. Do tell!
Your needle work is beautiful. This is one area I'm not exceptionally skilled in, even though my mother has tried to teach me. Perhaps I'm not patient enough. I do enjoy knitting and crocheting, however. Your home must be beautiful and peaceful with your work!

Thank you all for your kind comments on my embroidery. I really enjoy doing it.

We went out and finished the pressure cleaning Thursday morning.

Gina ~ It really is amazing how clean everything looks. Thanks.

Ami ~ Lavender is such a nice scent. I wish I could grow it here, but haven't found one that loves our heat and humidity.

Debbie ~ Thanks.

Tatyana ~ Those cement benches are so dang heavy. We're getting too old to be lugging that stuff around.

Glenda ~ You probably have Penelope. Mine just looked different that day. She's a creamy white with some peach usually.

Nana ~ Penelope is one of my favorite roses.

Nell ~ I'm a fan of patina too, so some things got left unpressure cleaned. :-)

HHG ~ Working in the shade was better than in the sun. What gets to me is the noise of the engine. I have to wear heavy duty ear covers to keep most of the noise out.

Kit ~ You are fortunate to be able to grow lavender. It does not like our heat and humidity.

Cherry ~ Yes it is hot humid messy work. We've not done it in a few years, and are glad it's over for now.

Grace ~ It is nice having the job done.

Gayle ~ Listen to you, take the weekend off. You are such a hard worker every day. You inspire me with all that you do up there in Alaska.

Sharon ~ Thank you.

Kimberly ~ The vanda isn't in the ground, basically just sitting there. This orchid is so easy it's ridiculous. The roots are aerial. I just break a piece off the plant from the top below some roots and put it somewhere else.

Thanks again everyone for stopping by, for taking the time out of your busy lives to read and leave a comment. They are much appreciated.
