A May Monday

Well Friends, here it is the start of summer. It's 3:30 p.m. it is 84 and the heat index says it feels like it is 92. Needless to say, our a.c. is on. We are so thankful for our long cool/cold winter season that just ended. The best we've had in many years.

We could use some rain again, and may get a thunderstorm or two come Wednesday. The air is filled with scents of jasmine, roses, plumeria, white orchids tree blooms and others.

Here are some pictures I took yesterday.

This is Duchesse de Brabant.

This is an iris I've had for many years.

It is such a sweet bloomer and is always a treat to see.

The one below is a simple passion flower.
We have another one that is much prettier called Incense.
I do not know what this one is.

Hope you all have a great week,
whatever you are doing, wherever you are.

Wow! I LOVE these photos. :-) The rose is lovely, of course, but I'm entranced by the iris and passion flower. Just gorgeous! :-)

Beautiful flower! Especially Love the passion flower! So agree that we need some rain now, and hope we can get some soon.

Oh, the handmade Etsy artworks you posted on the side bar look so gorgeous. Good luck with your business.

The Duchesse is, of course, lovely. The iris are really blooming this spring everywhere I go. Your passion flower is so pretty. I love the intricate blossoms on them. My 'incarnata' hasn't bloomed yet. The Gulf Frit cats have almost consumed it, but it is still putting out leaves so hopefully it will rebound and grow like it did last year. Hope you have a great week as well.

Everything is so beautiful including your music. I have had my sound down or off and just turned it up yesterday. I had missing everyone's great music selections. Keep inside and safe.

I can only imagine how wonderful the fragrance is in your garden. We too, have had a wonderful spring, but summer temperatures are on their way in a few days. I hope you have a great week too :-)

The fragrances in your garden sound wonderful! I love the African Iris, so striking with the gold and purple markings on the white petals. The passionflower is beautiful.

Hi FlowerLady,
I am eating my lunch in Larry's office. It's cold in here because the air conditioner blows right on me. We are supposed to get up to the lower 80s today, but Friday evening, it's supposed to get down to 39, so I'm holding off on planting tomatoes and some of the annuals.

I love the contrasting colors on that iris. I had to laugh when you said you had a prettier passion flower. The one in the photo looks beautiful to me.

I hope you get some rain soon.

What pretty flowers! It's only barely 50 here and that's much lower than normal. We'll send you some rain and you send us some sun :)

What an unusual iris. It makes me think of looking into a kaleidoscope.
The passion flower is very much like our native one, a little darker shade.

I am getting some fragrance from rugosa roses, the Amur Maple tree and a few irises if you bend down and bury you nose in them!

The African iris are so dependable and beautiful. I love it when you see a plant just full of blooms...it's a real eye-catcher. Your garden must have a lovely scent as you walk through it.
