My Space

Thought I would show you the space where I communicate from, and also where I create some of my needlework pieces. I have crochet and embroidery threads, yarns, beads, material, cardstock and photo papers, wire for crocheting with, books and magazines for inspiration, music, a window with a view, all in a 6'x 8' space.

The two stuffed birds, an owl and a hawk, are old, found probably 25 years ago at a local flea market for cheap. The above the door was in the neighbors' trash across the street. It was painted a glossy black. DH stripped and oiled it. It just fits this space.

Since my work is basically miniature is size, I don't need a whole lots of space to do it. I do need space for the materials though and work with the space I have. I am thankful for this little room, a place of my own, to contemplate, to share, to create.

If you don't 'think' you have any space like this, look around again, you might be surprised.

Thanks for looking.

I can find space. I am not an organizer, so mine never looks all neat like yours.

Its like a cocoon, a secret hideaway. It looks like a wonderful place to hang out and lose yourself in a project.

Very cozy. I love the shelves and the window. It just shows you can do a lot with a small space. What was this room used for originally? Linda

You already know how I love your office/hobby space. That window couldn't be more perfect.

I can just see you there working away. We all need those little nests.

We have a front entry porch that no one has ever used that I am eyeing. It is about 5x7 and would have to be enclosed. I am thinking all windows. with desk on both end walls. Your space inspired me. Don't know if I can get it accomplished but you have me dreaming.

What a wonderful little alcove! It's so charming and cozy, I can just picture you in there working wonders with the needle and thread.

What a cozy, lovely space. Anyplace lined with books is a spot I gravitate too. It looks like a spot where you can let your creative ideas flow.

You have such a cozy and well organized space! And here I thought I was organized, ha, you put me to shame :-) I was just reading your latest Curb Side shopping trip. What awesome bargains you found! We have recently found a new program on TV called “Pickers” or something like that. These two guys go around junking with people permission in old barns and whatnot. We are so hooked on this show as they find some great stuff but unlike your finds, they must pay for their treasures. Hubby will not go junking with me, he even cringes when I ask to pull over to the side of the road when I find a nice rock! Oh well, I do have fun at the Goodwill store though…

Lovely space, FL! I like your "trash"...I'm guilty on many occasions of such finds.

I love your space...it is very welcoming and soothing at the same time. I love the curved archway that leads to it as well. As for my special place...I don't really have one that is all my own. Maybe someday with my 4 kids have moved out ;^)

It's so beautiful. I especially like the window with the ornamental moulding at the top. I found a link to your blog on another one, and now I visit everyday. I love, love, love your music, and some days I let it play through. My Mom passed away on January 24, 2010. She was 81 years young with 8 green fingers and 2 green thumbs, and she LOVED flowers. She kept a beautiful yard with flowering plants past her 80th birthday, but her health problems took a toll on her body, and she had to stop her yard work. I miss her so very much, and my heart grieves. I find comfort looking at your blog. Thank you for sharing.
