Colorful gifts from local waters

DH picked these up for me yesterday when he walked up to the corner grocery store, then on over to walk a canal bank for a little way. They are wonderful works of art. What wonderful colors too. I thought you all might enjoy seeing these as much as I did. I don't know what kind of snail they are, and I sure wouldn't want them in my garden. :-)

Your shells are so pretty, and you still have roses in your garden? that is amazing, what i would do to have a garden all year around.

Hi, Flower Lady! My guess is that those are Florida apple snails (Pomacea paludosa). I've seen limpkins feeding on them here on the Peace River. But I'm no snail expert, and there are several apple snails in Florida, so I can't say for sure.

That photography is beautiful! I especially like the first photo.

Beautiful shells, Flower Lady.

Every now and then I buy a package of shells just to display and admire. Until the dog gets past the 'stage' she's in, they're put away for now.

Oooo, my favorite kind of treasures. Nature's treasures. So pretty and what colors. What are you going to do with them?

Each one is so unique and different then the other as if snowflakes! We ate Escargot occasionally while living in Europe and I always wondered what they did with the shells after the meal. I am now wondering what you will do with these shells. Must stay tuned to find out.....

Your heart shaped eggs were too cute!

You have such an eye for beauty in the simple things. I like how you lined them up in the one picture and how each individual picture highlights a facet of their charm.

By the way, I saw your kitchen on SOMEBODY's blog as I was "surfing". I sure wish I could drop in to see you. You are living my dream, I believe.

They are so beautiful! I think I'll use that plum and amber in my next quilt block. Thanks for the inspiration!

Gosh they are so wonderful. To be able to go for a walk and find these is amazing. I so wish we had them here. I like how you have them displayed. P.S. You probably already know but Blotanical is shifting and Stuart is doing work. He posted it on Twitter and the word is getting around I think.

I'm really drawn to these shells. They are GORGEOUS! The colors are wonderful. The forms and shapes are so perfect, they would be stunning turned into sepia or black & white tones and made into a gallery wall!
