These buds are for you

Good morning Friends,

This morning I went out and took some pictures of rose buds in various stages of opening.

Click on pictures for larger view.

'Penelope'

Mm. Laurette Messimy

'Maman Cochet'

'Love'

'Louis Phillipe'

'Duchesse de Brabant'

'Cocktail'

'Caldwell's Pink'

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,

The above line is the beginning of a poem
written by Robert Herrick in the 17th century.
The poem is in the genre of carpe diem,
Latin for to seize the day.

Beautiful rose buds; I can't decide which I love the most the buds or the full bloom.

We are having cooler weather here and the roses always perk up.

I like your new picture at the top!

Pretty! You certainly have lots of varieties of roses. Do they bloom all year round?

What pretty rosebuds! The 'Duchesse de Brabant' is such a pretty color of pink, I love them all! Have a great day!

They are all beautiful shots of great looking roses. I have one lone rose bud blowing in a very strong wind today. We were 51 degrees this morning, and the furnace is still running. You have a great collection.

I'm counting on you to keep the garden dreams alive this winter season.

I am so sad to think all my hearbs are going to die soon, I adore making soup with all the bounty of our garden.

Ooh so pretty! They are all so beautiful. You just can't beat a rose for beauty. I think I will choose my favorite here as the top one, Penelope. No, wait ...

Good morning folks ~ Hope your day is a great one.

Thanks for visiting and your comments.

Gld ~ We so often overlook the beginning of flowers when there is much to see in the development and unfolding. ~ I wish we had some of your cooler weather. It is still very warm and humid here. At 6:48 a.m. it is 77 and feels like it is 83 with the humidity being at 87%. We're supposed to get a little cooler and less humid weather starting tomorrow, we'll see. ~ I needed a new header picture and thought that one was nice with a bit of whimsy. ~ You should think about starting your own blog. I love reading about your life there on the farm and seeing pictures too and know others would enjoy it also. You don't have to blog every day, just when you feel like it.

Jane ~ Thanks. Quite a few bloom year round which is really nice.

Catherine ~ I love them all too.

L.D. ~ 51 degrees and your furnace is running. Our a.c. is on, although not running right this minute. The high today is expected to reach 101. UGH. Hope your one rose bud survives the windy blast and gives you enjoyment as it opens.

Jenny ~ I will do my best to keep you all inspired and from having cabin fever too bad with pictures from down here this winter. This is the time of year our gardens really thrive. I would hate to see herbs/annuals die too. It is really nice to go outside to pick them fresh to cook with.

LeSan ~ It is hard to pick a favorite. They each have their own beauty.

Tom ~ Do you mean because you get to see pictures of what is blooming down here while your gardens are sleeping? I look forward to seeing how your gardens look next year. You have so much energy and lots of ideas, that I get inspired visiting your blog. Hope your leg is mending nicely.

Have a great day everyone.
