Bloom Where You Are Planted

Good morning Friends ~ Hope you are having a lovely Sunday. It is overcast this morning. Yesterday it was miserably hot out, feeling like it was in the low 100's with the humidity/heat index. Summer is definitely here.

But, as the title states, regardless of the weather, or where we live, we can all 'bloom were we are planted'.

Here is another excerpt from the book Simple Abundance ~ A Daybook of Comfort and Joy by Sarah Ban Breathnach, about blooming where we are planted.

"I have discovered that if we are to flourish as creative beings, if we are to grow into Wholeness, we must bloom wherever we are planted. Right now, you might not have the perfect career, home, or relationship. Few of us do. But if you have the gift of today, you've got another chance to re-create your circumstances and make them as perfect as it's possible to do with the resources you have."

let me rejoice and be glad in it".

I wholeheartedly agree with blooming where we're planted. It's a little late for me to recreate my life, home and circumstances so I'm satisfied with them, since they were my choices.

Imagine how many people would be so thrilled to live in your tropical home and gardens, Flowerlady. No snow and abundant growth year around is a wonderful setting. Your pictures today are so inviting.

Your gardens are looking very impressive. I like how you have planted each area and they each are such a nice looking scene. I am glad the rains didn't damage much, just gave you a lot of standing water. Enjoy your efforts with all of your different kinds of blooming.

Lovely garden shots. I especially like the first one and the one with the rose arching over the window.

First, the quote is dead on to how I am feeling today. I spent a late night conversing with a new friend on today, yesterday, and tomorrow. And I'm happy. I want more, and I'll get to that some day. But for today, I'm blooming.

Second, your gardens are so intimate and lovely. I'll be taking inspiration from your pictures when it comes time to "enclose" my own backyard.

Hope we all get a break from this weather, if not just a day or two.

Good morning everyone. Hope you have a great day today whatever you do.

Nell ~ It's probably a little late for us to recreate our life also, but we do think about moving occasionally, to somewhere peaceful and quiet. In reality, I keep working on making this place peaceful, I can't make it quiet living on a 4 lane highway. :-)

Yes, people would be thrilled to live here where we can garden all year long, no snow, tropical blooms.

Thank you for saying my pictures were inviting. My gardens are coming together more and more and they invite me to walk through them to feel the peace, see the beauty, smell the scents.

L.D. ~ Thank you. I am enjoying the gardens more and all the rain did help the majority. Did lose a couple of things from too much water, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Sweet Bay ~ Thank you. I like the picture with the roses over the shed window also. Sometimes I can hardly believe this is our little place.

Tom ~ Glad you liked the quote. Sometimes I need gentle reminders about living life to the fullest right where I am and with what I have been blessed with.

You have done so much with your property in such a short period of time, plus the work on your home also. In another couple of years or so, you'll have several intimate areas in which to sit and enjoy the beauty you've created all around you.

The temperatures have been horrible for the past 3 days. Right now it is dark out from rain clouds and I hear thunder, rain is just starting to fall. I was going to do some yardening this morning while it was cool out, but guess I won't be doing that after all. Hopefully the rain will cool it down some.

I am feeling like I'd like to move, but we live in the house my husband grew up in, which is paid off, and Larry says he's not moving. I would like a larger kitchen and yard, preferably not on a corner lot.

Also, our next door and across the street neighbor ladies and I used to be friends, but I have been so busy, and have planned on calling them, but haven't. Neither of them drives. I have noticed the next door lady has seemed unfriendly and avoiding me when we're outside. I finally talked to her and found out she's mad at me for encouraging the garter snakes. I asked her if she was referring to my blog, and she was. She called me a snake lover, and I don't think she listened when I told her the brush piles she talked about me building for them were for the butterflies.

I didn't say anything about the moth balls she puts out in the fall that hurt for me to breathe. She has gotten snakes in her house before, and they can't figure out where they get in. I moved the brush pile that was near our shared fence this evening, but I think I've lost a friend. I just hope she doesn't get nasty.

Well, I am assuming you don't mind me telling you about this, because I don't want to bring it up on my blog.

I do need to continue to bloom where I'm planted, and find ways to live in peace with her. Thanks for the encouragement in your post.
