A Yellow Ribbon for Eric

This post is for Eric, my nephew-in-law, who is serving his third deployment for the U.S. Navy in Afghanistan. Yesterday I went out and tied another yellow ribbon around our Norfolk pine for Eric and look forward to the day when he is safely home once again and this ribbon can be cut and taken down.

He has left behind his wife, who is my niece, and their two little children, a son and daughter. They all become upset and anxious, as any of our military families do, waiting for their loved one to return.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Eric as he once again goes where his superiors tell him to go. May he be safe, and may his time there go swiftly. May my niece and the little ones be surrounded by love at this time also.

Love, prayers and hugs Eric.

Such an anxious time for his family. A third deployment -- that must be very tough!

Flowerlady - they are in my prayers. I know it is difficult. May they be surrounded by family and friends to love and support them during this anxious time.

Most of us don't say and do nearly enough in appreciation for those who serve our country. Thank you for the reminder to remember them in our prayers and support what they do.

Does Eric read your blog?
